InterAct
functions as a strategic partner to media, NGO’s
and community groups, working in affiliation with individuals
and institutions to carry out its projects.
Evelyn Messinger, president of Internews
Interactive, is a television, Internet and cross-platform
producer.
Her current project is Digital Citizen 2012, a converged
media election project for 2012. Ms. Messinger recently
produced the Link TV meta-news series Global
Pulse,
and the online news literacy application Know
the News.
She was the Director of Electronic Media for the Soros
Foundation, where she created the Foundation’s
Electronic Media Program. Ms. Messinger was the creator
and a producer of two-way satellite television programs
linking Americans with Russians, which were broadcast
as special episodes of Phil Donohue’s program,
on PBS, and on ABC News where they were awarded two Emmys.
She has also been a news producer and editor, whose credits
include daily news and documentary programs for the BBC,
France 2, PBS, CBS News, CNN and others.

Digital Citizen 2012 is a multiple platform engagement
project that connects Americans using their personal
communications devices to television programming during
the 2012 election.
Shia Levitt, Digital Citizen Consultant, is a New York-based
radio journalist who produces international news and
feature stories for NPR, Marketplace, WNYC and others.
Her television production work is as a specialist in
digital connectivity.
Kadie Kelly, Digital Citizen Outreach Coordinator, is
a public policy specialist and founder of the Oakland
Single Parent’s Network. |

InterAct’s
Citizens Diplomacy Archive Project gathers source materials
from Russia and the US concerning the activities of
Citizen Diplomats during the Cold War period. The Hoover
Institution at Stanford University has created a Citizen
Diplomacy Collection, in cooperation with the CDA project.
On April 21, 2010 a Citizen’s Diplomacy Seminar was held at
the Woodrow Wilson Center’s Kennan Institute in Washington
DC (details here).
Anya Kucharev, CDA Project Director,
has worked in Russia and the former Soviet Republics
for Esalen Institute’s Soviet-American
Exchange Program, Internews Network, The Association
for Humanistic Psychology, Armand Hammer Productions
and many others. She has been nicknamed a “cross-cultural
Sherpa” for her work as guide and interpreter
during the Soviet-American citizen diplomacy
projects in the 1980s. |
